Pasture Raised Eggs
Pasture Raised Eggs
All of our chickens spend as much of their lives, as weather allows, in pasture with a constant fresh salad bar at their disposal! They are moved daily behind our pastured beef, allowing their salad bar to have the perfectly aged cow pies, full of fresh grubs.
They feast on all the bugs, grubs and photosynthesizing green matter they can greedily chow down in a day.
Respecting all the natural needs of a chicken allows us to produce the healthiest chickens and eggs that we are able. By allowing them to express their demeanor and antics, you can feel and hear the happiness in the flock.
Order your eggs for delivery to Virden and Oak Lake every Thursday, or Brandon on the first Friday of every month. Minimum 2 dozen for free delivery, otherwise a delivery fee will apply.
Once your order is placed and paid for, you will get a text for delivery confirmation!

Frequently Asked Questions
IS THERE ANYTHING ADDED?
"Grass-fed" does not necessarily equate to "healthy"! We know that feeding your family healthy, real food is important to you, so we don't use any hormones or steroids.
WHAT IS PASTURE OR FOREST RAISED?
You have to be careful when hearing grass fed. That word means nothing unless the grass isn't just grass. It needs to be grass, legumes, herbs, bushes, brush etc. that is eaten for a full diverse salad bar! Which is what ours is!
Not only does diversity matter, but so does soil health! You should ask the farmer if they ever disturb their soil! Your soil is alive and needs to be protected in order to provide the nutrients your plants need to feed your food and you!
WHAT IS HANGING WEIGHT?
Hanging weight refers to the weight after dressing (removing skin, organs, etc.). It includes some bone and fat that will be trimmed.
Our whole beef is roughly 800 lbs. hanging weight (about 400 lbs. per half).
Our whole pork is roughly 220lbs hanging weight (about 110lbs. per half).
WHAT IS THE PRICE?
We, as well as most growers, charge by the hanging weight.
Our beef price is $7.99 per pound. You'll pay roughly $2,716.6-$3,196 per half BEFORE CUTTING AND WRAPPING. We cannot tell you the exact weight, as every animal varies and we won't know until it is hanging.
Our pork is $4 per pound. You will pay roughly $400-$450 per half BEFORE CUTTING AND WRAPPING. We cannot tell you the exact weight, as every animal varies and we won't know until it is hanging.
HOW MUCH MEAT WILL I GET?
On average, your take-home will be about 2/3 of the hanging weight, depending on how you have it processed for both beef and pork.
For example, if you want T-bone and Sirloin steaks, bone-in roasts, bones for soup, and the fat for rendering into tallow, you'll get more pounds than if you want boneless steaks, filets, ground beef, no bones and no fat.
WHAT CUTS WILL I GET?
You'll work directly with our butcher on how you want your beef processed. You can choose the steaks and roasts you like, and any other cuts you want. The rest will go into hamburger. You can also choose the size and/or thickness of your cuts and how many pieces per package.
We will help you before you talk to your butcher if you are not feeling confident about this process! We want this to be enjoyable and fun! No stress at all on your wellness journey!
HOW MUCH FREEZER SPACE IS NEEDED?
For beef you will need roughly 7-8 cu. ft. for a half. (Think 8 milk crates! Or 4 apple crates, or approximately the inside of 2 standard-size ovens.)
For pork you will need 3-4 cu. ft. for a half. (Think 4 milk crates! or 2 apple crates, or approximately the inside of 1 standard-size oven.)
